About the Painting and Drawing

The painting process
The act of placing shapes and colours on a visual platform is what is most essential in my painting. The losing of ones self, straying from the conceived path, the perplexity and the potential revisiting of discarded ideas are extremely exciting processes. Nevertheless, the formal results (paintings, drawings) are also important, because they serve as further sources of inspiration for new visual impulses. This is what connects all my work in a creative sense, despite their visual diversity.

Invisible
I attempt to make visible what is not yet visible – as visual analogies of states, associations and constellations in physics, biology and psychology. The discrepancies between concept and formal conversion are what interests me most in the painterly process. The mysterious and unknown during this period are what I experience as most, inspiring and fruitful.

Interaction
To a certain degree, each abstraction also contains a figuration; while conversely, each figuration bears a certain level of abstraction within in. I pursue the interaction between the both. I often paint without a brush and colours, just with my inner eye. In a intellectual sense, I see this as an extension of the physical and formal aspects of my painting.
